About CRSlop
A playable, approximate Campbell River in the browser: walk, cycle, drive, paddle or fly from Logger Mike and Tyee Plaza past Discovery Pier and along the Rotary Seawalk to Big Rock.
It is an unofficial proof of concept prepared for a conversation with the City. It is not a City of Campbell River product and is not endorsed by the City, the Province of British Columbia, OpenStreetMap or the engine’s authors. Do not use it for navigation.
Start exploringWhat it is made from
- Streets, building outlines, parks and water: © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database License. One bounded snapshot, 6 November 2026.
- Terrain and building heights: LidarBC 2024 1 m bare-earth and surface models. Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – British Columbia. Heights are measured per OSM outline (80th percentile of surface minus ground); roof shapes are not.
- Wetlands and the Campbell River estuary: BC Freshwater Atlas wetland outlines (Open Government Licence – British Columbia), drawn as tidal marsh; the vegetation is procedural.
- House roof colours: sampled per neighbourhood from Copernicus Sentinel-2 imagery (10 m, 25 August 2025). Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data 2025.
- Terrain beyond LiDAR coverage: AWS Terrain Tiles (source credits).
- Landmarks: Logger Mike on his spar pole and Big Rock are original procedural models at OpenStreetMap positions. Sizes are estimates; nothing was surveyed.
- Everything else — facades, windows, roofs, trees, traffic and people — is procedural or simulated. There is no transit or live data.
